John Dumelo – Let’s focus on maximizing output and eat what we grow || Fighisonline

John Dumelo who is a well know Ghanaian actor, entrepreneur, politician and Farmer privileged to be part of the speakers to talk on Agriculture on the African Continent at Sahara sparks in Tanzania.

In Mr Dumelo’s speech as he wrote on his social media handle, he made mention of the need for Africans to change the style of our farming if we are ready to compete with the other continents.

Furthermore, he also said that we should be able to grow much food’s as needed in order to reduce the level at which we import foods from other countries and also addressed on the need for us to consume what we grow here in Africa.

He said

“We need a technological approach to achieve the agricultural revolution. We can’t compete with the West with our cutlass and hoe lifestyle. We talk about food security on the African continent but we are not ready to take risks. Risks that will see our lands being turned into major food baskets. Africa has the worlds largest arable land, yet we import food worth billions of dollars each year. About 60 percent of our land is uncultivated and by 2025, Africa will be importing $110bn worth of food. It’s time for us to cash in on that. Let’s start growing and stop importing. Let’s shift our focus to maximizing output and consuming what we grow. It’s time for us to change the narrative. It’s time for Africa. Enough of the talks…enough of the statistics, let’s get to work!”.

Ronaldo: Messi has made me a better player.

Cristiano Ronaldo spoke openly about his rivalry with Lionel Messi, revealing a great degree of respect for the Argentine and he admits that they have each helped the other to improve.

“I have no doubt that Messi has made me a better player and vice versa,” Ronaldo told TV1.

“When he sees me winning trophies it must hurt him, as it hurts me when he does the same.

“I really admire the career he has had and, on his part, he has already spoken about his disappointment about me leaving Spain because he appreciated the rivalry,” Ronaldo stated.

The Portuguese spoke of other great sporting duels, and even stated that he’d be open to joining Messi for dinner one day.

“It’s a good rivalry, but it’s not unique. Michael Jordan had them in basketball, Ayrton Senna and [Alain]Prost in Formula 1.

“What they all had in common is that they were healthy rivalries.

“I have an excellent professional relationship with Messi because we have been sharing similar moments for 15 years,” Cristiano stated.

“We have never had dinner together, but I don’t see why we couldn’t in the future,” he concluded.

“Dede Ayew is not my friend”- Asamoah Gyan on Kwaaku Maanu’s aggressive interview.

Gyan was asked if there is any troubles between him and the Ghana Captain?

“No ,there is no trouble between us But, he is not my friend” he said.

“We can talk on phone and he call me when needed”

Asamoah Gyan picks Abedi Pele as his greatest Ghanaian player of all time

“When I was growing up, Abedi was someone we all looked up to, he was playing the best of footballs in the country and there’s no doubt, he is incomparable,”

“He is the greatest Ghanaian footballer of all time with his style of play.”

Cristiano Ronaldo hints when he will retire – and it could be next year.

“Maybe I can leave my career next year … but I can also play up to 40 or 41.

“I don’t know. What I always say is to enjoy the moment. The gift is excellent and I have to continue to enjoy it.”

However Ronaldo had his sights set on a different achievement, rather than trophies.

The 34-year-old still has three years remaining on his Juventus contract.

He added: “Are there any soccer players who have more records than me?”😃

“I don’t think there are any footballers who have more records than me.”

But he has previously highlighted a significant difference between the two of them.

“The difference with Messi is that I played for several clubs and won the Champions League with different clubs,” said Ronaldo in his DAZN documentary ‘The Making Of’.

“I was top scorer in the Champions League six seasons in a row. There aren’t many players who won five Champions League trophies, so this is why I feel that I can identity myself with this tournament.

“Messi is an excellent player who will be remembered not just for his Ballon d’Or wins, but also for having improved – like me – year after year.

“I wake up every morning with the idea in my head of training with the objective of achieving something more, not just to earn money.

“Thank God, I don’t lack money, so what I want to earn is a place in the history of football.”
Well… he’s certainly done that.

Ronaldo: Today any player can go for 100m euros, even without demonstrating anything.

“It’s difficult to make calculations in modern football,” Ronaldo told Portuguese channel TV1.

“[Clubs] gamble a lot on potential and the football industry is different.

“Leaving the case of Joao Felix to the side, any player can go for 100 million euros, even without showing anything.

“There is more money in football.
“A centre back and a goalkeeper can go for 70 or 80 million euros.

Ronaldo broke the world transfer record in 2009 when he moved from Manchester United to Real Madrid for 94 million euros, before going for another 100 million euros when he joined Juventus last year.

“I don’t agree [with it] but it’s the world that we live in and you have to respect it.”
